Today at the Delaware State Fair, Governor Jack Markell and DNREC Secretary Collin O'Mara honored the 2010 Wetland Warrior, ecologist Peter Martin of Georgetown, for his tireless pursuit of restoring the largest freshwater wetland that remains in Delaware, the Great Cypress Swamp near the Maryland line in southern Sussex County.

Section of Otts Chapel Road to close for repair of underground pipe / From Monday, August 9th to August 30th
Middletown -- Otts Chapel Road, between North Hunter Forge Road and Sandy Drive, will be closed from August 9 to about August 29 to replace underground pipes, announced the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT). The section of road to be closed is less than one half mile long. The closure is necessary to replace the underground pipes that convey the water from Persimmon Run under Otts Chapel Road.
